Sorry I haven’t blogged in a while, we’ve had a busy few weeks with new product arriving, the Craftschool event in Waterford, not to mention new calves, sick son, communions, christenings and confirmations!
Although it didn’t get the numbers, the Craftschool in Waterford was fabulous!!. Hats off to Midi and helpers for organising a fantastic venue 🙂
The classrooms were big and bright with lots of space (perfect for classes lol!). The ‘shopping room’ had vaulted oak beam ceilings with fab handmade bunting hung around. As well as the shops there was also a crafting table where some of the products we demo’d were;- Tim’s new distress paints, Bert, Flossie and Annie the new Dylusions stencils, as well as new sizzix dies and the Woodware crafty edger!
As well as classes in card making, scrapbooking, altered art and mixed media there were classes in knitting, quilting, basket weaving and sugarcraft / cake decorating (which looked too good to eat..). Carol Grogan from Crafty Cutting and Marian from Crafty Bride were also there as well as sampler fabric and wool shops.
There was a huge choice of homemade goodies to help keep the creative juices topped up, i personally sampled the chocolate biscuit cake, the lemon drizzle cake, the coffee and walnut cake, the strawberry cheesecake, the coffee cupcakes; but missed the trifle, the pavlova, the bailey’s cheesecake, the crumble, four other types of cupcakes, apple pie, chocolate cake, chocolate brownies and at least two others I can’t think of……needless to say, it was all yummy!!!
Already drooling over what will be there next year 🙂
Here are photos and links to some of the fab classes that were taught over the weekend by the fabulous trio Felicia Dwyer, Karen Matthews and Betty Cumiskey.
I have lots more to share with you in the coming weeks, including some exciting new developments :-). We are also going to be in Killarney for most of next week, doing a couple of short workshops with the NBAB in the Gleneagle Hotel and also with Felicia Dwyer from http://scrapzville.bogspot.ie
Hope you all have a lovely weekend and happy Crafting
I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to all you lovely crafty ladies who came to our CHA Party / Jamboree last Sunday. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did :-). It was great to see so much creativity and happy cheer, a great start to an Irish Springtime lol!
The only thing is that i never took any photos :-(, so if anyone has some would love to see them.
We arrived back late yesterday evening, unpacked everything into the kitchen….agh! and then I went to a Zumba class in my local community hall (it’s only my second time going and boy am I feeling it today lol!)
I will be spending the rest of the week (while the little lad is either in playschool or bed), restocking and updating my website and finishing off a project or two. A little birdy metioned something about ‘an unfinished project event’ which i think we can all find at least one project to bring along lol!
Happy Crafting and thanks again
Kate x (ps. some exciting news coming soon….Yippee!)
Greetings to all you bloggers out there from a sunny west coast of Ireland! 🙂 (over my house anyway lol!)
My apologies for not blogging lately but our house has been under a tummy bug attack for the last two weeks, so I havn’t had much time (or energy) to do the things I love. But Yippee! Entire household is back to normal and school starts next week, so expect a few blog posts and some crafing tips!
To whet your appetite, the very talented Anne Mullan created these two beautiful albums that she kindly allowed me to share with you in these you tube videos, so check them out!
And for those of you who are attending Finnabair’s workshop in Newbridge this weekend, I am all packed (well nearly packed lol!) and am really looking forward to getting to meet you all and to share Anna’s creativity
Hi all, I am only just home from a wonderful two days in Limerick. I spent all day yesterday in the fabulous company of the gorgeous ladies of the Busy Bees Cardmaking Club in Limerick who were hosting a crafting workshop with the equally gorgeous ladies…. The 3 Mad Hatters! It was a great day with lots of creative projects happening all day as well as some shopping of course, lol!
I stayed over last night in Limerick and spent the day today with my 93 year old Grandmother who has lived there all her life. She is a fabulous lady who is definately the Matriarch of the family, I wasn’t in the door 5 minutes when she handed me her comb and told me to brush my hair lol!! I love spending time with her as she always has wonderful stories from her past, that are full of colourful characters. Love you Grams!
Getting back to the title of this post…..i can’t believe I didn’t post this before now, but guess what…..I am the spotlighted crafter on the latest issue of Crafting Ireland. I was soooooooooo excitedwhen the girls asked me to be there “Spotlight on..” crafter for the magazine. So if you want to find out how i went from being a scientist messing in laboratories to becoming a crafter messing with inks, as well as seeing some of what I create; check out issue 9 here.
Be sure to check out the other issues too as there are great tips and techniques in them and it’s IRISH, which I think is fantastic!!
