Yip! It’s Me!! Hello again…….

For those who haven’t been following our shenanigans on Facebook and Mailchimp, here is a brief summary while i have been away from the blogging world!!

Family Stuff:  My 7 year old is now off Gluten.  After 10 months of cyclical illness’s, 4 trips to A&E, 2 hospital stays, massive weight loss, leukemia scare etc. it turns out that it was Gluten that was the problem all along.  He is now off it 5 months and is flying.  Can’t believe one of the most worrying periods in my life so far has been summarised in two sentences.

The last I will say on it, is that for all parents out there who have sick children, sending you lots of HUGS xx (and a lighted candle xx)

Life Stuff:  We have moved beside our farm yard, into a lovely cottage that once belonged to a wonderful man (my husband’s uncle Frank).  Settling in has it’s moments lol!  (much smaller cottage….6′ 2″, giant of a husband (gentle giant I might add xx))

Work Stuff:  I now have my bricks and mortar shop 🙂 as well as a craft studio :-).  I will do another post on that at a later date as i want to share with you some of the lovely things we have been making for the upcoming Craft Shows.

Yes, a new adventure for us.  We are taking our shop to the NEC, stand G49, (I have to admit i am a little nervous, nerves are good though, right??)

Straight after, we are in Dublin for the annual Knitting and Stitching show, Stand F48

Pop over and say hello if you are at either event.  We will be giving away some tickets so make sure to keep an eye out .

Ok, down to crafting makes, there is a video link at the top of this post that shows you one of them… a cute little Fairy door I made for my gorgeous niece.  We will have kits for this at the show in conjunction with another Irish Company, Crafty Cutting.

This is another fabulously easy project Kit that will be available at the show, you don’t even need a sewing machine, it can de sewn by hand 🙂

I also made a fun bag for Halloween, “Every respectable Witch needs an Evening Bag, lol!”

Ok, that’s all for now, have a fab weekend and thanks for visiting!

Graphic 45 Scrapbook Page :-)

Canon Camera July 2014 928

It’s been ages since I have blogged…I honestly don’t know where the time goes, the weeks just roll into one another.  For those who hadn’t heard, I broke my ankle playing cops and robbers with my 6 year old son and his his young friends :-(, (my own fault, running in Fit Flops…not a good idea)

Walked on it for a week before I realised that I might have a broken bone, So I have been in plaster for the last few weeks, can’t drive, can’t walk, eating all around me and going stir crazy!!!

However, the up side to this is that I am getting to spend a lot of time tweaking our new website (would love your feedback, so check it out here ) and crafting 🙂 🙂

It made me realise that I am a little ‘rusty’ lol!  But I have managed a lovely scrapbook page using Graphic 45 Botanical Tea collection.  I loved this the minute it came out and I knew what I wanted to do with it straight away 🙂

My Aunt Mary turned 80 in June and we had a family birthday party for her last Saturday.  For as long as I remember she loved working with her hands..her speciality was making jams and chutneys (I can still taste them) from her own produce, rhubarb, gooseberries, tomatoes etc.

We are supposed to look alike, so she gave me a picture that she loved, it was a formal one of her when she turned 18. So I created a scrapbook layout using a copy of the photo she gave me, papers, banners and the flower die cut pack from the Botanical Tea collection, a Prima resin Frame and some canvas.

I took a short video of the finished layout (which I framed in a 12″ x 12″ Prima Wooden Frame) and have some photos also. Leave a comment and let me know if you like it, Crafty Hugs, Kate xx

Photos :-)

Hi Everyone, I am sitting here at the breakfast table (well, actually I am standing at the “breakfast counter”…no room in the dining part of the kitchen…or the hall, or the spare bedroom with all the boxes lol!)

So! Great day yesterday at our Sale and Crop in Athlone 🙂 the crafting season has officially started for me. It was great to see some of the new product on display and the excitment it generated…it’s the part I love most about being a retailer…that first glimpse! And then the crafter in me loves using it lol!

And of course we had Finnabair join us for a crafty day.   It was her day off but as you can see by the photos she is a natural teacher and gifted artist so she unconsciously switched to demo mode and shared her creativity with us.   Thanks Ania 🙂 xx

I cannot recommend her highly enough…if you can get to do one of her classes, do….she is a fab, fab teacher.  (and I do know she is teaching a class in conjunction with Cork Art Supplies on the 22nd September.. :-))

We also had a fab mini class/make and take with the very talented Sandie Dunne making a stunning card using one of sizzix’s framelits and textured impressions set.

Of course the day wouldn’t have been the same without a few prizes 🙂   I set a little challenge with another of our Make and Take’s, creating a beautiful Ballroom slipper with Brenda Waltons die and some crafty goodies set up at the table….Finnabair acted as judge and picked a fab slipper created Patricia O’Leary who won a Sizzix Sizzlits die set as her prize.  Well done “Cinderella”!
