DINA WAKLEY WORKSHOPS

We are Sooo..excited here to announce that we have booked the fab Dina Wakley to come to our new studio to teach a series of workshops 27-29 March 2015

Dina Wakley is a mixed-media artist and teacher. She loves everything about art: creating it, thinking about it, looking at it, and teaching it.  As a Ranger Signature Designer, Dina designs a line of mixed-media art supplies that includes acrylic paints, mediums, brushes, rubber stamps, stencils, and more. She also has recently published two Art Journal Books.

Dina is passionate about teaching art and in her spare time she is a docent at the Phoenix Art Museum, where she gives tours to school groups and gets kids excited about art.

She has travelled the world teaching her “Art Journal Play” series and was thrilled to be asked to share her passion and skills with us here in Ireland 🙂

So…. here are the details.  Dina is going to teach 6 different 3 hour workshops over three days 27-29 March 2015.  Here, in our NEW converted farmhouse SHOP & STUDIO in Tourmakeady, Co. Mayo.
Google location map

We are 17km from Castlebar and Westport ( both on the Dublin-Westport train route), an hour’s drive from Galway and 3.5 hour’s from Dublin Airport and only 50 mins drive from Ireland West International Airport  (pick-up can be arranged from the train stations and Ireland West Airport)

We live and work on a small farm on the lake shore in the shadow of the Partry mountains, a very, very beautiful part of the world…perfect place for Creating works of ART 🙂
There is plenty of accomodation locally, both self catering and B&B’s (links to follow), or you can travel the 35 mins into Westport and stay in one of the many lovely hotels.

Now down to the workshops…(and don’t worry about trying to choose, as I am definite she will be back :-), Happy Days!   A very, very excited Kate xx)

In Dina’s own words……..

My “Art Journal Play” classes are all about exploring and playing with art journaling techniques. The goal is to learn techniques, experiment, play, and make finished journal pages. We’ll be working in journals, but the techniques apply to all mixed-media projects (canvases, book-making, etc.).

We’ll mix ink and acrylics to give interesting layers and color effects.

Sneak Peak for our CHA Party :-)

I am again sitting at my Kitchen table, 5 year old in school, hubbie on the phone, Jasper asleep under my chair, house tidy and cup of tea in hand……What a change!!

It’s not that long ago when my 5 year old would be hopping around the house after being up half the night, the house would be chaos, my hubbie would be in the middle of a lupus flare up and I would be well, the less said about that the better!! Lol!

It’s amazing what a different doctor, second opinion, a change of diet and some sleep will do!!!  Not to mention school lol!

I have two sneak peaks to share with you today.  The fabulous Mandy (Pink Goose Craft House) is going to demo this gorgeous little mini…not to be missed!

CHA-party-oct-2013-demo-mandy-sheridan

The second pic I have is from a Make and Take happening on Sunday…My wonderfully talented Mum, Kay Hardiman (who I got my creativity from) created this fab card for you to make, just in time for Christmas 🙂
